Shade Ladipo, founder and CEO of Avienti Ltd, a travel company based in Lagos gives us some stellar advice in this throwback episode of Young CEO. Shade
In the episode, Sade talks about the trials she went through to her journey to becoming a a CEO. She started off with a background in the media but always had a passion for travelling as well as volunteering. During her days volunteering for the United Nations she discovered her passion for travel and subsequently quit her job in 2009 and used her savings to travel around the continent for three weeks.
She got back broke and out of work with practically nothing to run her business but still worked hard and finally got up to a point where she could afford computers and office space. She also had some great advice for small business owners, advising them to create and run a business that doesn’t revolve around the owner but rather can outlive them.
Her story is really inspiring as she gives motivation to anyone facing hard times and has been struck down thinking they can’t make it.
