In this Young CEO episode, Ghanian born, Sangu Delle reveals his passion for knowledge started at the tender age of 6 when his father gave him a Harvard School of Public Health journal. He had asked his father what University meant and his father responded “where people go to get smart” and then he asked his father what Harvard meant and his father replied; “where people go to get really smart”. This stuck with him and he proceeded to send the ‘headmaster’ of Harvard University an email about how he could get in so he can get really smart. Several months later, this 6 year old boy gets an email from Neil Rudeinstein, the then President of Harvard University, telling him he was too young to apply but he should keep in touch. This ignited a fire within Sangu to study at Harvard that never quenched – despite the world trying to tell his dreams as an African boy, were too big. Hard work, determination and several years later – Sangu now boasts of not 1 but 3 degrees from Harvard University.
In this exceptional episode – we see how one boy’s unshakeable passion led to a young man’s vision that has made an undeniable mark on the world we live in today.
