Rumour has it that Sade Adu’s mega hit “smooth operator” was meant to be titled “smoothie operator” Okay, just kidding. But a song by that title might not do so bad in the charts considering how popular smoothies are today. Smoothies are easy to make and a wonderful way to kickstart or end your day. They are filling, packed with nuitrents and make for a really great pre + post work out meal.
Here are a few tips you need to be a smoothie operator.
- Invest in a blender with at least an 800-watt motor.
- Bananas are the real mvp. Peel, slice, and freeze them. This go-to smoothie recipe ingredient thickens your smoothies without taking over other flavors.
- Add smoothie recipe ingredients like milk, yogurt, water, or juice first to get the blender moving. Then, add lighter, drier ingredients, like leafy greens, followed by heavy ingredients like ice and fruit pieces.
