So far, women of color have had a great year. There’s Beyonce with her twins, Serena with a new husband and baby, Niece Nash playing lead in Claws, Gabrielle Union, Tiffany Haddish, both with new books, the list goes on. Amongst these women who have soared this year is break out music sensation, SZA. Her debut album, CTRL went platinum, she’s the most nominated female in the Grammys award 2018 show and now being spotlighted as Fenty Beauty’s newest face, she can add Model to her resume.

Following the announcement of Fenty Beauty’s latest venture, MatteMoiselle, a new lipstick collection said to comprise of 14 shades, SZA’s welcome to the Fenty Beauty family came in form of an Instagram post by both Rihanna and SZA herself as SZA was pictured modeling one of the new shades in deep green titled “Midnight Wasabi“, which has had fans buzzing nonstop. Whoever knew we’d be needing the Green shade of  lipstick this christmas? Leave it to Rihanna to make the Green lips happen by slapping it on everyone’s fave break out music star.

This, however, was not quite the type of collaboration we were expecting from the duo. Being that the two previously came together for the track “Consideration” on Rihanna’s ANTI album, we were all secretly wishing for another hit single to vibe to. Nonetheless, this collab between two of our favorite female musicians is very much welcome as SZA is just the right type of muse for Rihanna and her new beauty merch.

Seeing that the collaborations between both artistes are ongoing still, we’re really hoping this would birth another joint effort- musically, of course.

While we await the 26th of December to cop the new lipstick range at Sephora and Harvey Nichols, we’ll over HERE treating ourselves to some other Fenty Beauty products.
