In most parts of the world, Sundays are the day you sit home, relax and reflect. But on this side of the pond, things are a little bit different. Every day in Lagos, brims with one social activity or the other and Sundays are no exception.
If you are looking for something to do today, we have you covered. Here are our top 5 things for you to get your groove on and party like its 1999.

2017 NPA International Polo Tournament
Its been two fabulous weekends of hats, champagne and polo and today is the last day to borrow your mom’s over the top hot and slay. For the non-polo lovers, the Veuve Cliquot lounge is like a mini day party brimming with people just trying to have a good time. A perfect way to spend your Sunday afternoon, if you ask us.
2. Film Sundays at Stranger
To those who are not familiar with Stranger – they are an uber cool concept store and cafe bar. They host free movie screenings every other Sunday and today they are showing ’13th’, the critically acclaimed documentary by Ava Duvernay. The film explores themes of race, justice and mass incarceration and has been described as “powerful”, “infuriating” and “overwhelming”. Definitely one of those films that makes you question everything you’ve ever known. If it sounds like something you’ll dig, check the flier for details.
3. JZO Fashion Party
Gone are the days when you go to a store on your own and shop quietly. These days, you go shopping when there’s music, drinks and food because… why not? Retail house, Mei Dei will be revealing JZO’s new collection at an intimate, invite only shopping party themed “Party at the village square”. If you’re looking to get some new outfits and network – you should probably stop by.
4. RSVP Africa Heritage Week
All week long, RSVP has been celebrating Africa. With a special menu by Chef Michael Elegbede, a pop up art exhibition by art twenty one, live art, guest performances at the pool side and a bunch of other really cool stuff. Today is the last day and they will be having another set of awesome performers at the pool side plus ‘dinner under the stars’. We told you all about it here – so, this is your final reminder!
5. Grill at the Pent
You can’t mention Lagos Sunday rockies and not mention Grill at the pent, popularly known as just GATP. This day party (it’s really a night party that goes on till about 4am) is probably the most rocking spot in Lagos on Sundays. It happens at COVA in Mega Plaza and is always lit. Like, always. You find yourself wondering how these people intend on going to work in the morning. But, if you’re up for it – you won’t regret it.
